Here are my random seven thoughts, as started in Conversion Diary.
1. I am finally getting around to watching Planet Earth. I've seen snippets, and my only regret is that I didn't start watching it earlier. It looks absolutely amazing.
2. I saw the second season of "Extras" last weekend, and my goodness, I'm totally a Gervais/Merchant fangirl right now. I loved "The Office," but they managed to get away from the mockumentary style and create something new and fresh. I also love the episode with Daniel Radcliffe; and the scene where David Bowie starts singing in the crowded bar? Genius.
3. Tomorrow is date day with Josh, and I can't WAIT. It's been too long since we went on a date, due to various circumstances, so this will be awesome. We have bowling planned, and maybe a joy-ride. We'll see.
4. I still didn't make the applie pie that I mentioned in my last "seven quick thoughts" post. Clearly, I am un-American. But there's hope! Hey, it's the Fourth on Saturday, so I'll make it then and feel my heart swell with patriotic pride (and possiby heartburn, as burgers and beer do not really mix that well with me).
5. I am really surprised at my reactions to Michael Jackson's death. When I first heard he was dead, I was like "...oh?" Like I was expecting it or something. But do you want to know something? I was driving home from work on Tuesday, and one of the radio stations was playing one of his songs - I think it may have been "ABC" - and for some reason, the thought of young Michael Jackson and what his life became really hit me, and I was in tears in my car in the middle of gridlock. Isn't it amazing how a death can just hit you like that? And a celebrity's death, no less.
6. I hope the couple behind us will stop with the loud parties that go late into the night. I can hear them in my bedroom, and I'm hearing-impaired. They are loud and as clear as if they're in the next room. Very, very annoying, and I'm always hesitant to say anything because they're otherwise very nice neighbors.
7. I know some coffee purists will put up their noses at instant coffee, but I love the stuff. It seems creamier than regular coffee, and I like that you don't have to worry about grounds in your cup. That happened to me yesterday - Josh had very kindly brewed a pot before I headed out the door, and I guess at one point, the filter folded over during the brewing, and I got coffee grounds. It was gross. It was in my mouth, my teeth, my tongue - I couldn't get it off!

That's all for now! Thank you for stopping by!
Hey I found your blog via Jen's Quick Takes. I'm totally a coffee fan, though I'm not sure "aficionado" is the right word for me. I know what you mean about it being creamier though--I tend to avoid instant now because of some allergies, but I always liked it because of the level of control you can have over the strength of it too. As sort of a replacement for instant now, I use a French Press instead. It's definitely not quite the same texture, but still tends to avoid the coffee grounds in the coffee issue. Yuck!

About the loud neighbors, maybe you could place an anonymous 'disturbance' call to the police? That way the neighbors wouldn't know it was you?

I can't even be remotely sad about MJ's death. I have a heart of stone.
Thanks for the comment today!
